We have a large client base in the energy sector and in particular the oil and gas industry. Our team routinely advises on a number of corporate and regulatory matters central to their business operations in the region, including any necessary restructuring required in order for our clients to comply with local content requirements in the oil sector.

Our experience includes:  

• Advising a US-based international oil company on specific Azerbaijani law related issues pertaining to an amended Azeri–Chirag–Gunashli (ACG) offshore fields Production Sharing Agreement (PSA);
• Acting for and advising the UK oil and service company in respect of a joint venture with an Azerbaijani enterprise for the implementation of works and services under Azerbaijani PSA;
• Advising an international oil company on the transfer of its participating interest under ACG PSA and relevant JOA, and conducting due diligence in respect of the transferor’s rights.

We also advise our oil and gas clients on labour and employment matters and represent them in any employment related disputes that may arise; as well as any environmental considerations that may be relevant.

With regard to hydrocarbon PSAs, we advise oil companies and oil service companies on their tax, customs and employment responsibilities.
