The Firm consists of three partners and five associates, including two senior lawyers. Our team has accumulated considerable in-depth experience of the Azerbaijani legal system and the local business environment, being fluent in English, Azeri and Russian. Our offices are situated in Baku, Azerbaijan, however our work takes us throughout the Caspian region.
MGB Law Offices was first established as ‘Jura Consultants Limited’ in 1995 by the founding partner, Ismail Askerov. Following a reorganization of the Firm on 1 April 1999, the Firm worked as ‘Ledingham Chalmers Baku Limited’, before operating under its current name of ‘MGB Law Offices Limited’ from September 2007.
We have significant experience advising on equity transactions, real estate and construction projects, and the general commercial and banking sectors in Azerbaijan. Since its incorporation, the Firm has become one of the first in Azerbaijan to provide comprehensive legal support for foreign investors, cooperating successfully with both English and American law firms.
